Description

AcraClear is a durable, nonyellowing, acrylic based protective log and wood finish formulated for interior use. It is fast drying, nonflammable, and has very little odor. AcraClear beautifies and protects interior wood from common household chemicals, grease, water, scuffing and abrasion. Product helps prevent fine dust penetration and makes cleaning easier. Available in gloss or satin. Its unique formula and clarity make it perfect for use over natural wood and woods stained with water-based and oil-based stains. When applying SaverSystems' AcraClear over light colored oil based stains, slight ambering may occur. Always spot test on an inconspicuous area and let dry to ensure desired results.

Uses

AcraClear can be used for log home interior walls, furniture, trim, paneling, doors, cabinets and any other interior wood surface. To clean surfaces protected with AcraClear protective finish, damp wipe with soap and water, window cleaner, or mild detergent.

Directions for Use

Surface preparation: Surfaces must be clean and dry. Remove all wax, dirt, dust and other contaminants. Over New or Bare Wood: Sand lightly with fine sandpaper (not steel wool) and remove all sanding dust. Over Stains and Finishes: Clean surfaces thoroughly. Remove all traces of wax, dirt and old finishes in poor condition. Sand lightly with fine sandpaper and remove all sanding dust. Test AcraClear in an inconspicuous area and let dry to ensure desired results. Do not apply over sanding sealer or material containing silicone or stearate. Room conditions: Open windows and doors for adequate air movement. Apply between 50 ° Fahrenheit and 90 ° Fahrenheit.

Application

Do not shake. Do not thin or dilute. Stir well before and occasionally during use. AcraClear appears opaque in container, but dries crystal clear. Product may be applied with a sprayer or a high quality synthetic bristle brush. For best results, apply a very thin first coat in one direction with wood grain. DO NOT OVER BRUSH. Allow to dry at least two hours, then sand with fine sandpaper (220 grit) and remove all dust. Apply next coat. Allow two hours drying time between each coat. (Two to three coats are recommended.) After final coat, surface willbe ready for light handling in four hours.

  • Drying Time: One to two hours depending on film thickness, temperature and humidity.
  • Coverage: First coat 200-300 square feet per gallon depending on wood texture and porosity. Each addiitonal coat is 400-500 square feet per gallon.
  • Clean Up: Clean brushes immediately after use with soap and water.

Health & Safety

Avoid contact with eyes, skin. Do not take internally. Use with adequate ventilation. Product is low in toxicity, but vapors may cause headaches. Always use a respirator when spray applying. Since field conditions vary widely, the user must determine the suitability of the product for the particular use and specific method(s) of application. Due to the fact that SaverSystems has no control over surface preparation and application methods, no guarantee as to results is offered, expressed, or implied. SaverSystems only warrants the contents of the container. If the product is defective, a refund of the material cost or replacement material will be provided at the manufacturer's option. Labor costs are not covered by this warranty. Responsibility for claims of any kind are strictly limited to the purchase price of the material.

Maintenance

Remove all substances which might stain or hold moisture on coated surfaces as quickly as possible. Clean coated surfaces by damp wiping with saop and water, mild detergent or window cleaner.

AcraClear was tested to demonstrate its protective charateristics for chemical resistance according to stringent specifications outlined by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA). The exceptional properties of AcraClear make it suitable for many applications where a high performance coating is required.

Testing was performed on No. 3 White Pine Boards 1" by 6" by 12". First coat was brush applied and allowed to air dry at room temperature for 2 hours. Second coat was brush applied and allowed to dry at room temperature for 5 days. These tests were conducted by Reichly & Associates, Richmond, IN.
